Precautions for exporting injection mold polishing

Upload time:2021-06-19Browse:0

The mechanical polishing of export injection molds is a very meticulous manual work. Therefore, the export of injection mold polishing technology is still the main reason that affects the quality of mold polishing. In addition, it is also related to the export of injection mold materials, the surface condition before polishing, and the heat treatment process. High-quality mold steel is a prerequisite for good polishing quality. If the surface hardness of the mold steel is uneven or the performance is different, the various inclusions and pores in the mold steel are not conducive to polishing, even if it is polished by an experienced master The effect is not good.

The effect of different hardness of the exported injection mold steel is different. Although the hardness of the mold steel is high, although the grinding difficulty increases and the polishing time consumption is greater, the roughness after polishing will be reduced, and the polishing effect will be better. At the same time, the hardness increases, and the possibility of surface differences caused by over-polishing also decreases.

The pre-processing technology of the export injection mold also has a certain impact on the polishing. In the process of cutting mold steel, the surface layer will be damaged by heat, internal stress and other factors. The cutting speed and feed rate must be ensured to be relatively uniform. Affect the polishing effect of export molds. EDM surfaces are more difficult to polish than ordinary cutting or heat-treated surfaces, so you should perform EDM trimming before finishing the EDM, otherwise a hardened layer will be formed. If the selection standard is not appropriate, the depth of the burnt hardened layer can reach 0.4mm. The hardness of the hardened layer is higher than that of the steel body, and it must be removed as much as possible to lay a good foundation for the subsequent polishing process.
